Michele Wolf Counseling
1
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy examines how early experiences shape our conscious and unconscious behaviors. Children adapt their actions for survival based on their environment. While some adaptations help us, others can block feelings of safety and success. Therapy focuses on identifying these patterns to decide whether to keep or change them for better outcomes.
2
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) identifies and changes unhelpful thinking patterns, feelings, and behaviors. It emphasizes thoughts as symptoms of dysfunction, enabling individuals to observe and modify them. This approach is effective in short-term therapy, providing tools for continued progress outside sessions.
3
Existential Therapy
Existential therapy views individuals as having the freedom to make choices and be accountable for their actions, while also acknowledging their limited control over external factors. It assists us in pinpointing areas for growth and highlights the importance of our values and the impact we wish to leave on the world.

Solution-Focused Therapy
Solution-Focused Therapy aims to support the most significant improvement for clients in a brief period. A straightforward way to understand this approach is that we focus on identifying what is working well or has been effective in the past so we can build on it. Additionally, we examine what isn’t working as so we can minimize those efforts.
5
Trauma-Informed Therapy
Trauma-informed therapy means that, whatever work we do together, I will always be looking to ensure that our work is safe, not destabilizing, and that you are empowered to choose what work you want to do and what work you don’t want to do.
